[Hornell, New York 5/27/21] – The Rockland Silk Mill was constructed in 1894 along the train tracks and Canacadea Creek. It soon became a large employer and helped Hornell grow to become known as the “City of Silk”. Now, nearly 100 years after its manufacturing days, The Rockland Silk Mill has been transformed into luxury style lofts.
Park Grove recently completed the historic renovation of the building and opened its doors to new residents. The renovation preserved many of the unique historic traits of the building including the original hard wood floors, large windows, and exposed brick beams.
